Afterschool Sports

Valley Schools participates in a small afterschool sports league with several other small Christian schools from the Bakersfield area. The program is available for students in grades 5-8, and will be segregated by gender. Sports offered include flag football, volleyball, and basketball. Sports offered are subject to change at league and/or school discretion.

Afterschool sports will be conducted on a volunteer, extra-curricular basis. There will be a $50 participation fee, and parents will be responsible for transportation to and from practice sessions and games.

Students who wish to participate must maintain a GPA of at least 3.0. Grades will be checked at mid-quarter as well as the end of every quarter. Students who do not meet the 3.0 GPA requirement will be placed on academic probation and may practice with the team but may not play in the games until the next successful grade check. Students who are subject to disciplinary action may also lose the privilege to participate in the afterschool sports program.
